My Favorite Nursing Shirt

I love nursing my little guy. I love that the milk that sustains him and comforts him comes from me. I loved nursing my daughter as well, even though initially we had a rocky start. With my daughter, I only had one nursing top, a tank top. I loved when I was wearing that top because it really facilitated nursing. I would wear a shirt over it so I would simply move that shirt up and then have my lower half covered by the tank.

This time around, though, I am lucky enough to own 3 nursing shirts, and I’m about to tell you about my favorite.

I won a gift certificate from A Mother’s Boutique and I was thrilled! I had a hard time narrowing it down to one selection, but I finally decided on a striped long sleeve scoop neck shirt.

A Mother's Boutique Nursing Shirt: A Little Bit of All of ItI really love it. It is a stylish shirt that is perfect for everyday wear. It is the kind of shirt that can be dressed up or down. And one of the things I really like about it is that it doesn’t scream “nursing shirts” like a lot of designs I’ve seen of other nursing shirts do. I would feel perfectly comfortable wearing this once my nursing days are over.

A Mother's Boutique Nursing Shirt: A Little Bit of All of ItNursing in it is very discreet. The shirt has 2 layers. You lift the first layer up to reveal a hole in the side and you move aside that hole to nurse. The bottom of you is completely covered with fabric that is the same exact design as the top layer and the top half of you is covered as well. It looks rather seamless. A huge plus is also that the 2 layers don’t stick together at all if that makes sense. The fabric quality is such that I’m not fiddling around with the 2 layers trying to get them to come apart.

A Mother’s Boutique offers a large variety of nursing and maternity attire. Like I said, it was hard for me to narrow it down to just one shirt! There are styles that can be worn for both maternity and afterwards as well, but what I really appreciate is the number of tops designed for nursing that are not maternity. I have a smaller frame and tend to lose the baby weight quickly and, as such, anything that is baggier tends to look bad on me. I love having a “normal” shirt to wear that also accommodates for nursing. I can feel comfortable and stylish and still be a mom. I love that! πŸ™‚Shirt

I also think it is really wonderful that Judy of A Mother’s Boutique is so dedicated to helping women through her shop. She maintains a blog and twitter feed to support and empower breastfeeding moms as well as provide encouragement along your parenthood journey.

I also want to mention that Judy offers a free Virtual Bra fitting. I am lucky enough to have a place locally, but that is a luxury not everyone has. That’s why Judy started helping women online with finding their perfect size! I know it made a massive difference for me once I found out I had always been wearing the completely wrong size. (You can read more about what it entails at Hobo Mama’s review of the service.)

A Mother’s Boutique offers baby carriers, breast pumps, breastfeeding accessories, nursing covers and swimsuits in addition to nursing and maternity clothing. They pretty much have you covered, well, literally. πŸ˜‰ If you want to hop on over to A Mother’s Boutique yourself, take advantage of the $5 off $50 or more offer for A Little Bit of All of It readers by clicking the image below.
