Welcome to the seventh week in our 10 week series on Preparing for Birth! This week’s focus is on New Baby Care. While pregnant, we tend to focus on childbirth and learning about pregnancy and understandably so. But, hopefully, we also learn what we can about how to care for this tiny newborn that is a result of pregnancy and childbirth.
Later this week, I’ll talk about some of the things I learned during the newborn period with my daughter and some of the standard newborn procedures you will need to make decisions about right after the birth.
Here are some other bloggers posts on the subject of newborn care:
- Click Clack Gorilla shares her post: Gorilla Mama and Baby Pickles Our first month together.
- Have you researched circumcision? Dionna at Code Name: Mama offers several posts on circumcision, including its effects on newborns, what exactly circumcision is, common concerns parents have (including research on cancer and STDs), and what circumcision removes.
- Authentic Parenting shares tips on ways to manage sleep deprivation during that newborn phase.
