Babywearing Mama Profile – Danielle
Each week I’ll be introducing you to a babywearing mama (or papa!) during A Little Bit of All of It’s Babywearing Series. Find out more about this mama at the end of the post.
When did you start wearing your baby/young child? I wore both girls by 8 weeks. They both loved it and never made a peep in the carrier. I can’t say the same about the car seat or stroller, neither one liked either.
What is your favorite carrier? Our first daughter, someone gave us the Bjorn, which was ok and served its purpose. Our newest addition, I use the Balboa Baby Sling and the Weego carrier. She is perfectly cozy and content in both. Although, I hear wonderful things about the Ergo. All of our carriers were hand me downs. They were free and get the job done.
How did you first learn about Babywearing and what were your initial impressions of it? A friend of mine suggested it as a way of keeping baby close. It also helps to be hands free. I think it’s very similar to feeling tight and cozy in the womb…what’s better than that feeling for them?
What is the strangest or funniest thing you’ve done while wearing your baby? I do everything, especially now that I have an infant and toddler. I wear her for walks, the park, shopping, around the house, even when we go out for dinner. She loves it!
What is your favorite thing about wearing your baby? The constant closeness and the connection. I think it’s another way to bond while still paying enough attention to our first daughter.
