My Kindergartener

This week marked a big MFW Kindergartenoccasion for my little girl. She started Kindergarten! In case you are confused, since it is March after all, we are homeschooling. Marcella turns five at the end of March so we figured we would just go ahead and start in March!

I ordered the My Father’s World Kindergarten curriculum a couple months ago as well as some supplemental material to get us started. So far we are three days in, and we both love it!

I really love the Charlotte Mason approach which suggests waiting until the child is six to start, but My Father’s World is such a gentle introduction to schooling and my husband felt more comfortable using a curriculum for Kindergarten. In the fall she will also attend a fine arts co-op which she is looking forward to.

At this point, we plan on doing year round schooling to remain flexible and not tied down to a specific schedule. I would like to do the MFW curriculum four days a week and supplement music study, habits, herb study, poetry, Scripture memory, art study and math. I am also adding foreign language (affiliate link).
