Beachfront Baby Water Wrap

Summer is coming! My pool opens up next month and we’ve already had some 80 degree days here in the South. So I’ve been pulling out my Beachfront Baby Water Wrap more and more these days.

What is a water wrap? You can read my interview with founder of Beachfront Baby to learn more but it’s basically what it sounds like, a wrap you can wear in the water. Have a baby who screams if you step into the shower? Water wrap to the rescue! And of course it is great for all of the other times you find yourself getting wet: beach, pool, water park, lake, etc.

20130415-130324.jpgIt is made of 100% polyester jersey material and comes in an array of colors: White Wave, Sky Blue, Passionberry, Navy Blue, Golden Sand, Key Lime, Key Lime, Caribbean Blue, Paradise Plum (my color) and Tropical Punch. The material has holes like mesh and is very breathable and silky, sort of like swimsuit material. It’s a little slippery so be careful the first couple times trying it until you get the feel of it. Once you know what to expect, it’s just like wrapping with any stretchy wrap. It doesn’t give as much as a cotton material but isn’t as supportive obviously as a thicker material as it does give some.

It is very thin of course which makes it great for hot weather. It dries very quickly. I just laid mine out flat and it was dry within an hour or two. We tried it in the shower with great success! I am definitely packing it when I go to the beach this summer and look forward to taking a dip in the pool next month with Jude securely wrapped around me. It’s also going to be great for trips to the water park with my 4 year old. No trying to figure out how I’m going to keep my daughter safe and my soon to be toddler safe. He’ll be wrapped on me and I’ll be able to go wherever my daughter goes without worrying about getting my wrap wet.

WaterWrapCloseUp.jpg20130415-130307.jpgA mesh carry bag in a matching color is also available. This makes it a breeze (pardon my pun) to travel with. It takes up virtually no room at all and the bag keeps it all together. It’s definitely worth it to me to pay the extra couple bucks to get the matching bag. The wrap is one size but they do offer an XL Wrap for those over 5’10” & 200 lbs. and a petite wrap (which is what I opted for myself.)

This is a really great wrap that every babywearer should have for the summer months! It’s perfect for hot days to keep you and baby cool and great for any water environment you may find yourself in.
