Happy Saturday and an Update

I hope you are enjoying another lovely Saturday. Today the weather is beautiful here and I can see that Spring is right around the corner! With spring in mind, and all the new things it brings, I thought it might be a good time to give a little blog update and look ahead to the future.

As you I’m sure have noticed, I have changed the whole look of the site. I wanted something more open and fresh looking. I also added some resources up at the top so you can easily get to topics that I have gone in depth on without having to search the site. I hope you like it!

I have also started accepting advertising. I would love to give my readers a chance to get to know some great companies they may not be aware of while at the same time helping these companies out. It’s a win-win! If you are interested, you will now see an Advertise heading on the blog.

Right now I’m offering a coupon code for local businesses “locallove” for 30 days of ad space for 75% off. If you are not local, I also have a coupon code for 50% off “happy1000” to celebrate reaching 1,000 Facebook fans. This code is available for 30 days of ad space for the first 5 who claim it!

Speaking of advertising, take a look at the side bar! You can see I’ve got some lovely sponsors already lined up. I wanted to give a shout out to all of them and let you get to know them as well.

carolinadoulasadCarolina Doulas is a local business specializing in serving you during the birth of your baby. From their site: “During delivery, we are in constant, close proximity to the mother at all times. We can provide comfort with pain relief techniques, such as breathing, relaxing, massage and laboring positions. Doulas also encourage participation from the partner and offer reassurance. As your doula we will act as an advocate for the mother, encouraging her in her desires for her birth. The goal of a doula is to help the mother have a positive and safe birth experience, whether the mother wants an un-medicated birth or is having a planned cesarean birth.” April, one of 3 doulas working with Carolina Doulas, guest posted at A Little Bit of All of It on what it means to be a doula. Check them out if you are pregnant! I used a doula and wholeheartedly recommend it!

The Tea Spot sells all sorts of delicious loose leaf tea and tea accessories. You can read about their organic loose leaf tea sampler and steeping cup here on the blog. If you’re a tea lover like me, you’ll want to check them out!

Anktangle Creations makes wonderful handmade items for your babies and your family. I have several of her baby leggings and love them! They are so cute and are great for this cold winter weather. She has lots of other nice practical things in her shop as well that I’m sure you’ll love.

Hab It is a much needed service designed to help women with their pelvic floor. I have learned so much from their website and blog and have benefited from their DVD. I strongly encourage you to go to their site and learn more about this important part of the female anatomy.

Beachfront Baby Wraps is a super practical baby wrap you can use in the water! I can’t wait for the warm weather and pool time with my kids. I have one of these wraps (and I’ll be telling you more about it soon) and know it is going to come in so handy for those times. You can read more about these water wraps here on the site in my interview with the creator.

Heather M Schiefer, Independent Creative Design offers freelance graphic design services out of her home. Whether you need a logo, print or web design or help with branding and identity, she offers it all. You can check out her portfolio to see the amazing work she has already done. She strives to be “green” as she says “in a time when things are very polished and commercial.” I can certainly appreciate that as I’m sure can most of my readers!

Super Undies helps you make that transition from diapers to underwear easier for you and your little girl or boy. They have solutions for nighttime and daytime and even accommodate bigger kids which is helpful for those with development delays. We have some of the nighttime potty learning pants we used until Marcella outgrew them. I always recommend Super Undies to those going through the potty learning phase.

A Mother’s Boutique offers all of the things you need as a mom! They also have fabulous support via a helpful blog and the ability to contact the owner with questions. Whether you are looking for a nursing bra or pump, nursing attire or a baby carrier, she has all of those items and then some. I love my nursing shirt from A Mother’s Boutique!

I hope you support those wonderful  mostly mom run businesses! I have no doubt you will be pleased!

One last thing I wanted to tell you about. The babywearing series will be finishing up sometime in April. I still have a lot to cover including some giveaways that I’m excited about. I plan on sharing those carriers you indicated you most wanted to read about in the survey and I still have some more pictorials as well. (You can check out the Babywearing page to see some of what is coming soon.) After that my plan is to focus on some natural living posts and talk about baby led solids some as that is the stage we are in right now with baby Jude and are enjoying!

Thank you for reading and being a part of this community! I’d love to see more of you on Facebook (we just reached over 1,000 fans!), on Twitter and Pinterest.
