Babywearing Mama Profile – Heather
Each week I’ll be introducing you to a babywearing mama (or papa!) during A Little Bit of All of It’s Babywearing Series. (You can be included in a future post by filling out the Babywearing Profile form.)
When did you start wearing your baby/young child? I started wearing her when she was about a week old; my first carrier was a Moby Wrap.
What is your favorite carrier? The Moby Wrap is my favorite at the moment, but I also like Wrapsody.
What is your favorite carry? The front pocket carry, although I’m very interested in back carries. I’m just afraid to try.

How did you first learn about Babywearing and what were your initial impressions of it? I learned about it from the internet. I thought it was really cool; with my older daughter I didn’t babywear because my husband thought it was too hippyiish. By the time # 2 came around I told him he could stuff it, and I wear her and the three year old all the time!
How many carriers do you own and what are they? I own 4 carriers: a home made mei tai carrier, a Wrapsody Breeze and two Moby wraps.
Do you have a favorite babywearing story/scenario? No, but I love the looks people give; they range from warming and interested to truly concerned for my child.
What is the strangest or funniest thing you’ve done while wearing your baby? I used a public restroom once while wearing her. I don’t recommend that by the way.
What is your favorite thing about wearing your baby? the closeness and the convenience, It’s amazing!
