The Boba Air

I first heard of the Boba Air from a friend when it first came out. She was excited about it so I was curious and checked it out for myself. I’d never seen anything like it!

The Boba Air is an extremely lightweight (it weighs less than a pound in fact) soft structured carrier that folds up for storage into it’s own pouch. It is very compact and will easily fit into your diaper bag or whatever you use to tote your other baby items around. It won’t weigh down your bag because it is so light. And when you are wearing the carrier, you won’t have to keep track of the pouch as it is actually part of the carrier! It is really very cool. I made a video (below) to show exactly how it works to store and to take out since I don’t think pictures do it justice.

As far as wearing the carrier, you can start using it when your baby is 15 lbs and it will hold up to 45 lbs so you will get a lot of use out of it. It does not have any padding which could make it uncomfortable possibly with a bigger child, but I have not personally experienced discomfort at this point with my baby. He is 4 months old and a little over 15 lbs. I found it comfortable and, something exciting for me, I was able to easily nurse him in it with the sleeping hood up! I can’t seem to easily nurse, if at all, in other carriers so that was pretty neat for me! It was very discrete, too. I walked up to my husband and asked if he knew Jude was nursing, and he had no idea.

As mentioned, it does come with a sleeping hood. It also comes with a storage pocket with zipper closure you can store the hood or anything else in and all the normal buckles and straps you have with a soft structured carrier. The buckles are the same military grade buckles the Boba 3G has so they are very strong. I’m petite and was able to adjust the straps to fit my waist comfortably. The waist adjust from 27″ to 55″ (my waist is actually smaller and it still fit me and I was even able to make it tighter), and it fits heights from 5’0″ to 6’3″.

I like how the Boba Air feels while wearing it. It feels more like it is hugging my baby to me sort of like a wrap does. The Boba Air is made of 100% nylon so while being very durable, it is very thin. This is what makes it so light and super easy to stuff back into the pouch. The only tricky part is getting some of the straps back in, but I just try to get that part in the bottom part of the pouch. It still works just fine if they end up toward the top though as I’ve done it both ways.

Nursing discreetly with the sleeping hood up

This would be the perfect carrier if you traveling and need to travel light (like flying for instance!). It is so small and light yet a fully functioning soft structured carrier.I think this is a carrier every babywearer should have in their stash. The price point is lower than most carriers yet it is still a top notch carrier from an awesome company.

Disclosure: I received no compensation for this post but did receive a complimentary Boba Air for the purpose of this review. I was not required to give a positive review and all opinions are 100% my own. I only review products that I either have purchased myself and love or products I have been given a chance to review by the company that I believe are products my readers would benefit from.
