Natural Herbal Living Magazine is a fantastic way to learn about herbs and all of their amazing properties. With the addition of the Herb Box, you can really go in depth and have all of the ingredients to make several recipes from the magazine for the herb of the month. Focusing on one herb a month, the magazine will allow you to really hone in and focus for a month on just that herb and really develop a relationship with it via the Herb Box. Build up your natural medicine cabinet with the herbs right for you and your family by learning what works and what doesn’t. Natural Herbing Living Magazine and the Herb Box is the ideal gift for budding herbalists or that person on your list who seems to have everything. Give the gift of knowledge this holiday season!
When I first heard about Natural Herbal Living Magazine, I was intrigued. I knew it was something I would be interested in. Each month brings the opportunity to learn about a different herb. What is so unique about this herbal magazine though is not only do you get an in depth look at one herb a month but you can also order the herb box further enhancing and deepening your herbal knowledge.
The Ginger issue was 58 pages long packed full of information on this herb. I also loved that the last several pages included a glossary of herbalism terms perfect for someone like me who is just starting to get an understanding of herbalism. The first several articles gave me an understanding and knowledge of the herb with the history, uses and safety considerations laid out as well as an essential oil profile and flower essence profile.
Next in the issue was the application section, all of the wonderful ways to create recipes using ginger! I was instructed on how to make ginger tea, use ginger for headaches and earaches and make delicious candied ginger. There is also a section all about having a kids’ ginger tea party complete with ginger molasses cookies and chai tea. Ginger honey, ginger tartlet, ginger jigglers, ginger syrup and ginger ale recipes were also included! That’s a whole lot of ginger goodness!
Toward the end of the issue is a seasonal article on the herbs and history of Samhain. Suggestions for celebrating the season with some mulled cider and mummy pizza are included as well. Herbal vinegars, oils and tinctures is the last thing covered and was very informative and interesting.
As you can see, each issue is jam packed with relevant and interesting information giving you a great depth of information about that month’s chosen herb and many, many ways to use it!
About the Herb Box
I am a hands on visual learner so I really love that the herb box gives me the opportunity to receive hand picked ingredients to experience the month’s herb firsthand and make some of the recipes in the magazine myself! I received the ginger herb box and magazine, an herb I adore. My box included:
- Spicy Chai Tea
- Powdered Ginger
- 4 oz Grade B Maple Syrup
- Wild Ginger Flower Essence
- Ginger Root Essential Oil
- Ginger Root
- Ginger Recipe Booklet
It’s great having the magazine in digital form, but I love that the herb box includes a printed recipe booklet. It makes it easy to try out the various recipes. The booklet also includes a condescended list of ginger facts, an essential oil dilution chart and suggestions for using powdered ginger.
