New Book Club and Your Chance to Vote!

Many of you said you were interested in reading a book together and then discussing here on the blog, but a lot of you said it would depend on the book. I have put together a list of six books and want to give you the opportunity to vote on which one you are most interested in reading, and we will go with what the majority of you are interested in. Sound good? Okay then! The one question survey is below. First, though, let me give you a brief description of each book so you know what you are voting on! (Some links below are affiliate links.)

A Little Bit of All of It's Book ClubSink Reflections by Marla Cilley

Have you heard of the Flylady? Well, this is her book of her system that transformed her cluttered house and life. I thought it would fit in nicely with the new posts coming soon on decluttering and simplifying coming up. From Amazon: “Drawn from the lessons and tools used in her popular mentoring program, the FlyLady system helps you create doable housekeeping routines and break down overwhelming chores into manageable missions that will restore peace to your home—and your psyche.”

The Healthiest Kid in the Neighborhood: Ten Ways to Get Your Family on the Right Nutritional Track by William, Martha, James and Robert Sears

I think the title is pretty self-explanatory here so I won’t say much more. 🙂

Families Where Grace Is in Place by Jeff VanVonderen

From Amazon: “VanVonderen shows readers how to nurture God-honoring relationships free of manipulation, legalism, and shame. This book is a practical and insightful discussion on living a graceful life and building a strong and happy home using God’s tools.”

Mommy Overwhelm by Laura Schuerwegen

Are you feeling overwhelmed? Depressed? From her website: “Laura draws from her own experience overcoming a longstanding depression to hand you the tools to heal. From strengthening foods and herbs to exercises and activities, this guide will kickstart your journey to happier, balanced parenting.”

The Locavore Way: Discover and Enjoy the Pleasures of Locally Grown Food by Amy Cotler

From Amazon: “This friendly guide to eating locally gives readers all the information they need to buy, cook, and eat close to home. Cotler covers all the basics — why eat locally, where to find local foods, how to eat locally on a budget, what questions to ask at the farmers’ market, and even how to grow one’s own food. She offers savvy shopping tips, simple guides to preparing whatever is in season, ideas for bringing out the best flavors in farm-fresh foods, and strategies to make the harvest last.”

One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez

I figured I’d throw in a fiction book, too just in case that was more of what you would all prefer. It is summer time after all. 🙂 Lori reviewed this book so feel free to read her review though I’ve never read this book myself (nor any of these actually). From Amazon: “One Hundred Years of Solitude tells the story of the rise and fall, birth and death of the mythical town of Macondo through the history of the Buendía family.”
