Avoiding Chemicals by Cleaning with Water and a Cloth

It sounds kind of crazy to say, but the last couple days I’ve been using only water and cloth for some of my cleaning. And guess what? It really does clean! Of course, it is not just any old cloth; this cloth is special. It is a Norwex Microfiber Cloth. If you’re curious how in the world this could possibly work, I encourage you to check out the link above. I’ll just say that this microfiber is made in such a way that it removes all of the stuff you don’t want from the surface you are cleaning and pulls it into the cloth. Once inside the cloth, the silver inside the cloth (we are talking MicroSilver, fancy stuff) purifies and in 24 hours, you have a clean cloth once again.

I’m not a fan of cleaning. It’s just not a fun thing to do usually, but I really got a kick out of cleaning with the Norwex cloths. I’ve been wiping down all sorts of surfaces in my kitchen, cleaning windows, dusting, wiping down walls, tables, etc. Marcella even enjoys using the cloths. (They actually make kid-sized cloths as well as mops – how very Montessori of them.)

First there is the Enviro cloth. This is the heavy hitter, folks. I’m not sure what you can’t clean with it really. It’s a workhorse for sure. You can use it dry for dusting and, let me tell you, dusting with this is really nice! Such a timesaver! I didn’t have to fool with using a spray and smearing and all that. I just wiped it down. The properties of the cloth actually attract dust and dirt and draw them up into the cloth. Marcella might just be in charge of dusting while I have these cloths around. It is easy enough for my 4 year old and, bonus, she loves it! Using it wet really gets things clean, too. I love how easy, easy, easy it felt to clean. It is so refreshing to just need a cloth and nothing else — no need to carry around a bottle of cleaner!

The Window Cloth is the other item I’ve been testing out. If you like shiny, you’ll love these! After cleaning with the Enviro cloth, you can use the Window Cloth for shining up! This is primarily for windows, mirrors and jewelry (just not anything anti-glare), but it worked really nicely for making my tables super shiny and I used it on my sink, too. If you follow FlyLady, you know what she says about a shiny sink! I really like my faucet handles to shine, too. I’m a sucker for a sparkly bathroom I guess.

They even have personal care products and products just the right size for your kids to clean alongside mom and dad.

Disclosure: I received no compensation for this post but Norwex Consultant, Morgan Payden, provided me with a demo Enviro Cloth and Window Cloth to try out for the purpose of a review. I was not required to write a positive review or host a party.I was not required to give a positive review and all opinions are 100% my own. I only review products that I have purchased myself and love or products I have been given a chance to review by the company that I believe are products my readers would benefit from.
